Jon Timmons

Voice Instructor

Jon TimmonsJon Timmons holds a Master of Music degree in voice performance from the University of Delaware.  At University of Delaware, Jon also served as a graduate teaching assistant instructing voice lessons to undergraduate students.  Jon earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in music performance from York College of Pennsylvania where he graduated summa cum laude with departmental honors.  

 

Jon currently serves at Music Training Center's Voice Department coordinator, in addition to teaching at MTC's Marlton, NJ music school.  His students perform regularly in regional and community theaters, many of whom earn lead roles.   Jon is passionate about vocal music education and focuses heavily on vocal technique and performance practice in his studio.

 

An active singer in the Philadelphia region, Jon is currently a member of The Philadelphia Singers, the resident chorus of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Jon is a classically trained baritone with opera, choral and musical theater experience. From Salt Lake City, Utah, to Beijing, China, Jon has performed internationally with several choral ensembles and has worked with such accomplished conductors as Charles Dutoit, André Thomas and Simon Carrington. In addition to several leading opera roles, Jon has been a soloist for several major choral works including Faurè’s Requiem, John Rutter’s Feel the Spirit and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs.
