Brementown Musicians - Story

In this show, inspired by the classic folk tale The Brementown Musicians, a quartet of friends must work together to save their home.  Hendrix the Donkey, Presley the Rooster, Nicks the Cat and Nash the Dog all live together on the idyllic country farm under the care of Farmer Blue.

For many years, life is pleasant and peaceful, but Farmer Blue starts to get too old to grow the vegetables that pay for the farm.  One fateful day, Farmer Blue receives a letter stating that if he cannot buy the farm, it will be sold to the highest bidder at auction.

That highest bidder is sure to be Warrington Wolf, the mean mayor of Brementown.  Together with his partner in crime, the dangerous and cunning Sebastian Fox, Warrington Wolf plans to demolish the farm and make himself a summer mansion.  This nefarious pair is absolutely determined to take the Blue Farm and will stop at nothing to do so.  Though Warrington Wolf has always seemed to be an upright and lawful citizen of Brementown, Sebastian Fox has a history of mayhem.

Farmer Blue and the four animals are heartbroken at the prospect of losing their home.  It is Presley, who has always dreamed of fame, who has the idea to travel to Brementown and enter the annual Battle of the B-Town Bands.  The prize money would be more than enough to pay for the farm.  Hendrix, Presley, Nicks and Nash take what little money they have, pick up some instruments, and begin their journey as the Blue Farm Four.

Sebastian Fox and Warrington Wolf learn of the clever plan to save the Blue Farm and they decide that they must stop the little band from winning the big show.  Warrington Wolf uses his mayoral influence to get the Stripes Gang released from jail.  The Stripes Gang, a group of wicked raccoon robbers, is happy to follow the lead of the notorious Sebastian Fox, and together they go into the woods to stop the Blue Farm Four.

As the Blue Farm Four travels through the woods, many things start to go wrong.  The Stripes Gang steals their instruments and all of their music.  Still, they refuse to give up.  Sebastian Fox tries to use his smooth talking ways to convince them to go back to the farm, but they still persevere.  Warrington Wolf tries to bribe the friends, but they do not accept.  Sebastian even tries to threaten the Blue Farm Four, and get them to fight with one another, but they manage to stay together and pass through the danger of the woods.

At long last they arrive in Brementown, but things do not look good for the Blue Farm Four.  They are weary and disheveled from the journey, they have no instruments, no music, and they are too late to audition for the competition.  Just as it seems that all hope is lost, they run into the famous Sammy Starr, a savvy city squirrel who runs the Battle of the B-Town Bands.  Sammy is so impressed with them that she immediately invites them to compete in the big show.

All of Brementown comes to see the big competition.  Sebastian Fox and the Stripes Gang make an appearance, singing music and playing instruments that they stole from the Blue Farm Four.  When Hendrix, Presley, Nicks and Nash perform, they prove that they are the greatest new musicians in the land.  In the end, not even Warrington Wolf, who is helping to judge the competition, can deny that the Blue Farm Four are the winners.  They win the prize money and save the farm.

Join our Storytellers and colorful cast of animals as these friends band together to save their home.  This new musical features a lively soundtrack of original music in a lively pop rock style.  It also stresses the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork, confidence, and friendship.
