Sandy Kaufman holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education
from Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music, where she studied
flute with Adeline Tomasone. While at Temple, she also attended classes
with Philadelphia Orchestra members David Cramer, Loren Lind, and Kazuo
Tokito.
Sandy has taught instrumental and general music in public and parochial
schools in the Greater Philadelphia Region. In recognition of her
teaching, she was invited to conduct for the Philadelphia Archdiocesan
Festival Band in 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. Additionally, she has
instructed flute masterclasses for Bensalem School District.
Sandy is an active performer with the Delaware Valley Wind Symphony
under the direction of Jerry Nowak, performing with artists such as Bill
Holcombe and Kathleen Mitchell. Sandy continues to direct several music
programs in Philadelphia and will be attending Arcadia University for a
Master of Education degree in Instructional Technology.
