Lyric Policy

MTC's Lyric policy prohibits songs that contain explicit reference to violence, hate, discrimination, sexual topics, drugs, and other topics that in MTC's sole discretion are inappropriate for students.

Hearing Protection Policy

MTC provides one pair of high quality durable earplugs to each student, the first time the student attends a rock band program.  Students are expected to retain and use these earplugs for all current and future rock band classes.  Parents are required to sign a form agreeing to MTC's policy that students must wear these earplugs at every rehearsal.  If a student arrives without their earplugs, there is an charge of $1 to provide disposable earplugs for the rehearsal.

Behavior and attendance policy

Students who repeatedly arrive late, miss rehearsals, engage in profanity or other unacceptable behavior, or who damage
property of the Music Training Center or of other students may be dismissed from the camp without refund.

Rock Band Camp is a professionally-instructed rock band experience, which takes place in Music Training Center's in-school theaters.

Students are taught to perform together in a rock band that exhibits the student's individual and collective talents.

The students choose a set list of 5 to 10 songs, and rehearse under professional direction.  At the end of the week, the students perform a concert in Music Training Center's theater, complete with professional sound and lighting.

Song Selections

Band members select songs ranging from classic rock to modern rock. Each band member picks at least one song on the band's set list.

Instrumentation

Each camp is limited to a maximum of 3 guitarists, 1 bassist, 1 keyboardist, 1 lead singer, 1 saxophonist, and 2 drummers.

A second lead singer may be added by mutual consent of both singers.  Any other band members may sing backup vocals.

The stage has two full drum kits.  When 2 student drummers are enrolled, the drum coach may rotate alternately with each student drummer during rehearsals, so the student drummers will play at some times and observe the drum coach at other times.  Both student drummers perform in the entire show along with the drum coach (if needed) who plays on a 3rd drum kit.

Instructors

Each instructor is assisted by one or more junior instructors.  Instructor assignments may change without notice.

Admission Requirements

Guitar/Bass/Piano: Able to play common chords
Drummers: Able to hold down a beat

Singers: Able to sing classic and modern rock

I have read and agree to the Rock Band Camp policies.
